BSL 60th Anniversary Interbank Football Competition Concludes with Goalless Friendly Match

The rainy Saturday afternoon of August 3 2024 bore witness to the grand finale of the Bank of Sierra Leone's 60th-anniversary Interbank football competition a jubilant celebration of athleticism and camaraderie. 

The culminating event took the form of a friendly match between the honoured hosts Bank of Sierra Leone (BSL) and the valiant champions of the tournament Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB).

As the final whistle echoed across the stadium the scoreboard remained frozen in a rare state of equilibrium 0-0. The clash between these two titans of the financial world unfolded as a majestic spectacle of prowess strategy and unyielding spirit leaving spectators spellbound by the sublime display of talent exhibited by both teams.

The esteemed Bank Governor Dr. Ibrahim L. Stevens took center stage lauding the spirit of camaraderie that permeated the competing banks and singling out Sierra Leone Commercial Bank for their exceptional triumph and wholehearted participation in the celebrations.

In a poignant moment of acknowledgment the Bank Governor conveyed a message from His Excellency the President Dr. Julius Maada Bio expressing gratitude for the instrumental role played by the financial institutions in bolstering the nation's economic stability. The Governor pledged his unwavering support to foster stronger collaborations between the central bank and financial institutions underscoring their collective responsibility in steering the country towards a prosperous future for all its citizens.

As the accolades were bestowed upon the deserving warriors of the field the spotlight shone brightly on Sierra Leone Commercial Bank's indomitable guardian Ibrahim Deen acclaimed Best Goalkeeper and the lionhearted defender Sahr Tengbe rightfully crowned Best Defender symbolizing their fortitude and excellence within the SLCB team.
